Ariégeoise Cyclosportive

What is it? The Ariégeoise is a challenging cyclosportive based in the Ariège Pyrenees which usually takes place the last weekend in June. Its mountainous course and spectacular cols have seen it grow in popularity year on year with over 3500 participants in 2008. For more information on this year's course, click on the following link :www.cyclosport-ariegeoise.com

Who is it for? There are 3 courses available so this cyclosportive really caters for everyone:

L'Ariégeoise 164.5km – Make no mistake, this is a tough cyclosportive which can be made even more challenging if the weather is hot.

La Mountagnole 106km – Not as arduous as the Ariégeoise but still challenging although participants tend to be more laid back and have time to enjoy the carnival atmosphere. A good last minute training ride for anyone entered in the Etape de Tour.

La Passéjade 70km – A randosportive rather than a cyclosportive, this course is really for those new to cycling with very little altitude gain.

What are the benefits? Taking part in a cyclosportive can be used as part of your training schedule or simply as a goal in itself. By staying at the Auberge de l'Arac beforehand you'll get a chance to recce the route with an experienced Ariégeoise rider and have the entrance and registration formalities taken care of for you. If you're thinking of riding the Ariégeoise alone, then you'll also have other people to talk it over with when you've finished!

Accommodation? Because we keep group sizes small, everyone is accommodated in their own room in the Auberge in a choice of either en-suite accommodation or, for those on a budget, rooms with showers and sinks but shared toilets.
