Situated in the heart of the French Pyrenees, the Auberge de l'Arac makes an ideal base for exploring the verdant valleys and majestic peaks of the Ariege mountains. With a choice of accommodation, including gites, the Auberge offers flexibility as well as a magnificent setting for your stay in this picturesque part of France.

For the outdoor enthusiast, the region provides year-round entertainment with fantastic cycling country and great hiking routes available from the front door and several ski resorts near by. And for those interested in fishing, the Auberge is located on the banks of the River Arac.

If your idea of a holiday is more relaxed, then while away the hours at a local market or take a picnic on a mountain top and admire the beautiful scenery. Lose yourself in time in the caves at Niaux or at the Cathar fortress of Montsegur. You could even take a daytrip to Spain or Andorra. However you choose to spend your time, everything is on hand for the perfect holiday.

From 2008, the Auberge will also be offering cycling-specific packages, designed to facilitate cyclists who simply want to turn up and ride. Whether you are an individual, a group of friends or a club, the packages are an ideal way to get in shape after the winter or to focus on a more specific goal such as the Etape de Tour or even our local cyclosportive, the Ariégeoise.
